Not only did I complete my new blue quilt. She's been washed and dried once to start the "ragging" process. I realized just this morning <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06W559CMK" target="_blank">You Inspire Me </a>has a new review.<br />
<br />
Here's my newest creation. Isn't she lovely, all fluffed out and puffed up? She's all cotton. She measures approximately 50" x 60". She's filled with batting.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ocJBjrH3lGA/WhxU1vsXBSI/AAAAAAAACA4/4KWVgleXlr8K3HL1QJM8pz5h2XgdhtGlACLcBGAs/s1600/20171126_215818.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1234" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ocJBjrH3lGA/WhxU1vsXBSI/AAAAAAAACA4/4KWVgleXlr8K3HL1QJM8pz5h2XgdhtGlACLcBGAs/s320/20171126_215818.jpg" width="246" /></a></div>
And here she is from another angle (back).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ALMv1_kD10o/WhxVChL82SI/AAAAAAAACA8/0ke6CHGgsBU1L-ze70MP-EOr1ljTPKVpwCLcBGAs/s1600/20171126_215329.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1005" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ALMv1_kD10o/WhxVChL82SI/AAAAAAAACA8/0ke6CHGgsBU1L-ze70MP-EOr1ljTPKVpwCLcBGAs/s320/20171126_215329.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And rolled up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WwWUXlMXdpg/WhxVRrXutyI/AAAAAAAACBA/uVFOeWbFBBEK_6TgV3GiAJ0LUAOCobTSACLcBGAs/s1600/20171126_214336.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1241" data-original-width="1600" height="248" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WwWUXlMXdpg/WhxVRrXutyI/AAAAAAAACBA/uVFOeWbFBBEK_6TgV3GiAJ0LUAOCobTSACLcBGAs/s320/20171126_214336.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Okay, maybe that's enough photos. Although, I have more. She's getting camera shy. I'm getting carried away. I just can't believe how much I LOVE this quilt. I fall in love with every quilt I make. I'm really proud of how it came together. There's a rose fabric, that's more of a teal than blue. I wasn't sure if it would blend with the other fabrics, but I think it does. Tell me what you think.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
As much as I love this quilt, I can't keep her. So, she's available on <a href="https://www.ebay.com/itm/142601291108?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649" target="_blank">eBay</a>. If no one takes her home there, I'll move her back to this blog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Now, about <i>You Inspire Me. </i>We have another review. <i>Woo-hoo!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DCU4UXawzKE/WhxWin6Lc8I/AAAAAAAACBQ/gmyo0Daky9EP0wfNaWolSfaWb4eySwsTQCLcBGAs/s1600/YIMReview1127.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="600" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DCU4UXawzKE/WhxWin6Lc8I/AAAAAAAACBQ/gmyo0Daky9EP0wfNaWolSfaWb4eySwsTQCLcBGAs/s400/YIMReview1127.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I'm feeling so much joy and gratitude this morning, I can hardly stand it. I hope that wherever you are, peace and joy are with you as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
P.S. This blue quilt immediately made me think of <a href="http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Smiling Sally</a>. I just headed over to her blog to realize that she has passed away. May she rest in heaven. I look forward to seeing her there when my time is done. Her <i>Blue Mondays</i> are now being hosted by Jeanne of <a href="http://backyardneighbor.typepad.com/backyard_neighbor/" target="_blank">Backyard Neighbor</a>.</div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BAIbgBZmUxE/WgsSl0p4cSI/AAAAAAAAB_8/v5K0xTGxwOILDqAejbarXifGfP8yX7dmQCLcBGAs/s1600/KidsAlexBD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="540" data-original-width="960" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BAIbgBZmUxE/WgsSl0p4cSI/AAAAAAAAB_8/v5K0xTGxwOILDqAejbarXifGfP8yX7dmQCLcBGAs/s320/KidsAlexBD.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
As though it were yesterday, I can remember the birth of my daughter Alexandria. I had dreamed of being this little person’s mother for years. I had kept my husband up late many nights with baby conversation. When I learned that I was pregnant after almost seven years of marriage, I was beyond happy. Having previously lost two babies early in the first trimester, I admit I was also a little nervous.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
This pregnancy, however, was different. I was already five weeks and six days pregnant, with about six or seven home pregnancy tests under my belt, when I had my first ultrasound. Like a right-turn signal, her heart blinked away on the screen right before my eyes.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
As much as I possibly could, I handled my pregnancy with kid gloves. For better blood and oxygen flow, I slept on my left side each night. Never a drinker or smoker, I took my prenatal vitamins religiously and even gave up drinking Coca Cola. Anyone who truly knows me understands the magnitude of that sacrifice. I knew my obstetrician’s phone number by heart and called about any twinge of pain, discharge, or extended periods when my baby was less active.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Imagine my shock when one night, after enjoying some delicious nachos my husband had prepared, I was shaken out of my sleep by strong cramps that I knew could not be good. I jumped up and ran to the bathroom to find out that I was bleeding.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
My husband rushed me to the hospital three traffic lights away. The nurses examined me, then hooked up an IV that delivered magnesium sulfate to slow down my contractions. The nurse warned, “This medicine is gonna make you feel hot all over,” and it did. Despite the discomfort caused by the medication, I remember being grateful that there was something that could be done to stop my contractions.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
After about an hour or so of nurses and technicians checking on me, I was all settled in, my husband went home to get some sleep, and I finally dozed off.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
The next morning my contractions grew in intensity. I was worried. Each contraction was powerful enough to wake me up and I timed them by looking up at the clock on the wall. They were coming too quickly. I noticed that my mother was sitting in the left corner of the room. I had time to speak to my mother and nod out for twelve minutes before my water broke like a dam being uncorked. The entire hospital bed was wet. No one alive could have convinced me that the entire Atlantic Ocean hadn’t just moved through me. Lifting my head, I looked at my mom and said, “My water broke.” She jumped up and ran to get the nurse. The nurse walked in and asked, “What’s going on?” “My water broke,” I answered, to which the nurse replied, as she stood over me, shaking her head, “Oh no. No, your water didn’t break. Let’s get you examined.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
I immediately called my husband. He said he was on his way. After I was examined, the doctor determined that my membranes had ruptured, just as I had said. My daughter was in frank breech position (one leg up, one leg down). It was election day, November 8, 2000 and my daughter was about to be born. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Like kids called into the principal’s office, three doctors stood to my right, heads hanging low, lined up against the wall. I had just seen two of the doctors in the last few days, earlier in the office, as well as Sunday at that very hospital. Both times, I had been assured that all was fine.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
After hearing the options: turning the baby around and then giving birth or a Caesarian section (which would be less stressful on the baby), my husband sternly asked, “Well, shouldn’t you all be getting ready?”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Then, from among the heavy silence, the only female doctor (who will remain nameless), out of the three, stepped forward and rendered her medical opinion like judgement, “A C-section is <em>major</em> surgery. It’s very stressful on your body, and it doesn’t make sense for a baby who won’t be a viable person. You will want to have other babies.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Those words hit me like a brick in the face. All I knew was I was <em>this</em> little person’s mother today. The distant future was the last thing on my mind. No matter the outcome, I would do everything I could to give her the best chance at life- this life God had breathed into her.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Minutes later the doctors cleared the room to prep for my surgery. As I lay in that hospital bed, only twenty-three weeks along in my pregnancy, I would become a mother. Strangely, a surreal calm washed over me. I didn’t cry. I knew that the Lord was with me. I spoke to the Him and said, “Lord, if you want her back home with you, I’ll be okay. If you let her stay, Lord, please help us and give me strength.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Just hours later at 5:18 PM, Alexandria was born. As I lay on that operating table, I heard a nurse warn, “Mrs. Allen, you won’t hear her cry.” My husband left my side as the NICU team rushed my daughter away.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Alexandria weighed only one pound, four-and-a-half ounces. She was 12 ¼” long. She weighed the same as a loaf of bread. To this day, I can’t pick up a loaf of bread or make a sandwich without remembering the day that never fails to give me hope.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Yes, as one of the NICU doctors reminded me, when I was in recovery, we’d have a long road ahead. Yes, I had no idea of every trial and hurdle our family would endure or conquer. No, this was not the way I dreamed of becoming a mother. But yes, I would trust the Lord now. I was determined to learn all I could about the issues that most preemies face. And I would trust the Lord with Alex’s health issues: eye surgery, brain hemorrhages, a fractured femur due to chemical rickets and careless NICU technicians, oxygen levels, full feedings, infections, neonatal intestinal obstruction, edema, weight gain and loss, bradycardia (slow heart rate), and tachycardia (abnormally rapid heart rate). </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
The Lord was there. His presence was clear to me. I experienced His love and faithfulness for myself day after day. We were blessed to have wonderful people in charge of caring for Alexandria. Dr. Armand, head of the neonatology department at DeKalb Medical Center, had a wonderful way of explaining every medical diagnosis, course of treatment, and procedure. One of our favorite NICU nurses, Tracey Hardy, gave Alex such great care that we never worried when it was her day to work.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Finally, only February 6th 2001, after eighty-five days in NICU, Alexandria was given over into our care. I can’t explain to you how my anxiety wrestled and mingled with my joy. A full month before her due date, Alex was discharged from Dekalb Medical Center. We had to take and pass a CPR class and learn about the monitor that was attached to our premature daughter. A monstrous oxygen tank was delivered to our home. Dr. Armand assured us it only administered just a “little puff of air” that Alex didn’t really need anymore. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
We were so happy to have Alex home with us. For health reasons though, we kept her away from crowded places for the recommended time. But as soon as possible, the three amigos hit the road. We went to arts festivals, trade shows, and flea markets. Everywhere we took Alex, people were amazed at her tiny size. The receptionist at the front desk of Alex’s pulmonologist actually commented when we stepped off the elevator, “Girl, I thought you were carrying a baby doll in your arm.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #052d49; font-family: America, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line;">
Well, my preemie is not so preemie anymore. She’s the beautiful girl in the blue coat, standing next to her baby sisters and brother. We just celebrated her 17th birthday last week. I’m amazed at how the time has flown. My firstborn is almost an “adult.” She keeps sweetly reminding me. My girl is beautiful, bright, and easygoing. <em>Frozen’s</em> Elsa and Anna are still her favorite. She loves the movie. She buys the books. She draws lovely pictures of them to accompany the stories she writes. There are areas in Alexandria’s, excuse me <em>Alex’s</em> life (she prefers Alex) in which she will always need her parents. And that’s okay. I’m her mother. She’s my sweet girl. Life happens. And life is <em>still</em> beautiful.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Well, Fall is finally here. And it's no secret that I love decorating with pillows! You can change the look of any room just by changing the pillows. Pillows and pillow covers are an easy way to add a pop of color to your sofa, bed, chaise lounge, or porch. Pillows can cozy up any room.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I enjoyed creating the covers you see above. The pillow on the top was actually created using a vintage 1988 fabric (I love vintage fabric) that I've been holding on to for YEARS! The full roses look lovely up against a muted green tone. All I could think of when I looked at this fabric was the word "grateful." Now, the bottom pillow was created from a fabric that is adorable. I think it'll add rustic, country charm to any sitting area. I've added the words "give thanks." </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Both pillow covers are the perfect fit for 16" pillow inserts (not included). I used French seams, so there are no raw seams inside. When needed, these cotton covers can be tossed in the washer. I recommend line drying or laying flat. They'll need to be ironed after each wash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This Fall, I can't think of two better sentiments than "Give Thanks" and "Grateful."</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This weekend, these covers are available on <a href="http://tinyurl.com/royallady" target="_blank">Ebay</a>! After that, I'll add buttons here for anyone who's interested in purchasing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I'm working on some new designs. So, please come back to see what I've created.</div>

Just the other day, my family drove to Candler Park. It was quite the perfect spring day. All four kids darted off to claim a swing, a rung on the monkey bars, or chase lightning bugs. My husband and I headed toward our favorite bench, perfect for keeping our eyes on the kids.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before I made it to the bench though, I noticed a flyer attached to the lightpost. It was an advertisement for a local pop-up shop event. Just the photo alone boasted exquisite linens, pillows, and other handmade wares for sale. I thought, what a fantastic idea, but I said, with a huff, "Why can't I do that? Why can't I have a sale, too?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As soon as those words escaped my lips, I turned to my husband and asserted, "I could do that. Yes, I can have a sale, too." He nodded and verbalized his support.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, what if time has gone by like 'sands through the hourglass?' Time flies when we're having fun. It's far too easy to lose time and miss opportunities when life makes a million demands on us. Old dreams that once pumped through our hearts have gone unfulfilled and lay tucked away in a forgotten chest in the attic.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Despite our intentions, life just had other plans for us. The road we've traveled has been more about the needs and expectations of everyone else. The hours have been about arriving at the destination of someone else's choosing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is the truth. You can make a new bucket list today. Cater this new list of aspirations to all your experiences, strengths, and yearnings. Put little things, big things, even "silly" unusual things on the list. No matter our age, the honest pursuit of a goal can be more fulfilling and more intoxicating than checking off gifts on a Christmas wish list.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you desire and choose, it is possible to move in a completely new direction. Be bold enough to paint in your mind a picture of your life- the one in your wildest dreams. Dare to claim what others believe you can never achieve and should never attempt. Have the courage to move things around, usher in new players if necessary, and take a chance on yourself.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let your new bucket list or the revised one give you power. Yes, there may be obstacles. However, the no's we believe and tell ourselves daily remain our largest hurdles. Like bullies, those negative thoughts stand guard against hope. Now is the time to stand up for yourself. Those bullies can't tell you 'no' or shut you down any longer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can pursue any goal you witness. You can dream any dream. Moving forward and upward toward your dream is possible for you. If you see anyone else on the planet doing it, achieving it, or living it, it is possible for you. You are exceptional enough to be dedicated enough to make it happen. There is time to do what you love. You can live life in a way that's meaningful to you. With faith, patience, and determination, you can make your bucket list come true, too.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Erin Goodchild loves babies- everyone's babies. Erin has known since she was a little girl that she was born to be a mother. Life as a photographer and doting aunt assures that her life is full of children. Though, after thirteen years of marriage without a child of her own, she's teetering on the brink of insanity and brushing up against the point-of-no-return. Wanting just one little baby seems like such a simple desire, right?</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Well, toss in medical issues, heartbreaks bigger than the ocean, and a husband who refuses to "cooperate" and you're in for an interesting roller coaster ride. Throw in Erin's wild, over-the-top family and friends, for a Southern journey that will leave you speechless, laughing, or smiling way down deep inside.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Desperate to make her dream of motherhood come true, there's no telling how far Erin will go. Can faith, patience, and love sustain her? Will she survive when the love she has for someone else collides with the love she has for herself?</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Big-hearted and honest, Honey in My Tea explores different phases and colors of love, relationship, and family. crazy world and asked the Lord in heaven to save you. I bet she didn’t stay when fun took flight
like golden-winged warblers and the storms arrived, promising to devour everything
in sight. I bet she never gave birth to
the greatest blessings of your life. Was
it her? No, it’s me who tells your
children to show you respect and love for your sacrifice..."</span><o:p></o:p></div>

<span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN;">I've been robbed.
Actually, I just feel like I've been robbed. Each year I long for
winter. It's my favorite season. For me, nothing beats warm, fragrant lemon
tea, hot chocolate, and soup with beautiful grilled cheese. The crisp, cold air, which does nothing for
my achy bones, provides welcomed breathing relief for my asthma. No matter how cold you are, you can always add
more layers. When it's hot and miserable
here in Georgia, even taking off your clothes doesn't help much.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 10.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-align: justify; text-autospace: none; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN;">This year, at least in my neck of the woods, winter has
called in sick- <i>a lot.</i> With breaking
record temperatures, it's a wonder I can even function at all. The high temperature for today is 70 degrees. There are years
when the Metro Atlanta area sees no snowfall during winter. Other years, just a dusting
or one to two inches. However, we're
<strike>famous</strike> infamous for our dangerous black ice that people from other regions p'shaw. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 10.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-align: justify; text-autospace: none; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN;">Just a few weeks ago, we were <i>promised</i> snow by our
trusted meteorologists (I still love y'all), just to wake up disappointed. Sure, we had a little ice on the trees and powerlines. Some sleet fell. As always, the higher elevations like Blairsville
got their share of snow. Us, nada. So, the kids faced a sad morning. To cheer them up, I reminded them how blessed we were that
the lights were still on and no trees were down.
The other highlight of the day:
we had plenty of comfort food to snack on after our big "the snow
is falling" store-run. </span></div>

<span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN;">I hate to complain, but what's this? I love these little flowers. They perfectly represent my favorite color,
as well as possibility on the horizon.
Just look at that little blossom surrounded by those brown crunchy
leaves and acorns. Everything is in bloom
here. A couple of days ago, the pollen count was
1289, smack dab in the middle of February.
Bees are already buzzing around. I think I spotted a mosquito the other day. Our eyes are itchy. Our throats are scratchy. Our noses are congested. Sinus pressure has us being a little snippier
with one another. It's so warm that I
don't even have to keep my socks on when I'm in the house.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN;">Technically, Spring is more than a month away. Yet, it keeps peeking its head in the door. I'm sure plenty of people are enjoying this
warm trend. Me? I just want my winter
back. Not too cold. Not too warm. Just right.
Maybe winter will show up one last time for me.
When it shows its face, I'll comfort everyone with a nice, hot meal that
sticks to the bones, snuggle up and rub tootsies under a few blankets and
quilts, and watch a good ole 80s or 90s Lifetime movie that makes you so
grateful for a roof over your head- since it's so crazy cold outside.</span><span lang="EN"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are plenty of ways to make our husbands feel loved and cherished. Here's a quick list of 15 things you can consider doing to let your sweetie know just how much he means to you.</div>
<br /><br /><br /> <br /><div style="text-align: center;">
1</div>
<br />For certain men, food is key. Make a meal that your husband loves. What’s that special dish that really satisfies him? You know the one that he always raves about. Cook it for him. Save and offer him the big piece of chicken, biggest portion, or first dibs on the last piece of cheesecake. Don’t let the kids drink all of his favorite soda or devour his favorite chips. Be sure that your grocery list has some of his favorites on it.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
2</div>
<br /><br /> Ask his opinion about important decisions, current affairs, and world events. It means a great deal to a man when the woman he loves cares about what he thinks.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
3</div>
<br /><br /> Wait up for him on those late nights. Make his favorite sandwich or grilled cheese or just be up to talk a little about the day’s events.<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
4</div>
<br /><br /><br /> Leave a little handwritten love note on the bathroom mirror or slip it into his wallet. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean every moment of sweet-little-nothings has flown out the window.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
5</div>
<br /><br /> Physical affection is vital for men. Kiss him just because. Grab his hand while you’re driving or walking together. Put your arm around his shoulder. Snuggle up to him first. When we initiate affection, our men really feel wanted.<br /><br /><br /> <br /><div style="text-align: center;">
6</div>
<br /><br /> On a regular basis, tell him how grateful you are to have him in your life. Never take for granted that he already knows.<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
7</div>
<br /><br /> Send him an “I love you” text message. Let him know that you’re thinking of him when the two of you are apart.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
8</div>
<br /><br /><br /> Run a bubble bath for him when you know he has had a long, trying day.<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
9</div>
<br /><br /><br /> Take an interest in his passion. Watch that ballgame with him. If bowling is his thing, tag along and try your best to rack up some strikes.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
10</div>
<br /><br /><br /> Go where he wants to go. Whether it’s a matter of restaurant, vacation, or sporting goods store, make his choice THE go-to choice.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
11</div>
<br /><br /> Stand by your man. Support him in situations that come up with your family. Be on his side.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
12</div>
<br /><br /> Even if it’s just in a conversation, express some passion about what matters to him. If you understand what he’s feeling, make sure he knows that he’s not alone.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
13</div>
<br /><br /> In all of our 25 years together, my husband has given me plenty of flowers and balloons. One day it dawned on me. Maybe my husband would like flowers too. I stood in the Kroger floral department for at least fifteen minutes, trying to decide between vibrant pastel daisies and beautiful roses. When I arrived home with deep-red roses for him, the look of surprise on his face was priceless. Yeah, a few guys poked fun of him on Facebook for getting flowers from a girl, but it was definitely a hit for our memory book.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
14 </div>
<br /> Share your dreams with him and ask him about his. Work together to achieve the dreams and goals the two of you have.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
15</div>
<br /><br /> Always remember to ask your husband, “Do you need me to get something for you? How can I help you? What can I do for you?”<br /><br /><br /><br /><div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast">
<span style="text-align: justify;">Constant love, care, and consideration will
go a long way in a marriage. When both people are always thinking about the
other person, the union thrives, issues are promptly addressed, and each day is
sweeter than the day before.</span></div>

that makes the Lord proud.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">We were created to love God with all we do, whether
it’s cooking breakfast, making the bed or finding a parking space at the
mall. Whatever you do, do it well. Each minute we breathe, we should show up and
give our best effort. Focused on giving
all He said to give, there are many ways we can be a blessing every day. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">If your family had to give you a report card, what
would your grade be? Are you
anticipating the needs of those in your family and making the load lighter for
someone else if and when you are able?
Are you seeing the best in your family and building them up? Let’s make
sure we’re not just screaming “<i>what</i> <i>about</i> <i>me</i>” all the time.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Genuine support is a rare find these days. Let’s go the extra mile, even when we don’t
feel up to it. Jesus, an expert builder,
wants us to build in the lives of others. Someone somewhere can benefit from
what <i>you</i> have to offer. Make optimism and providing answers be your
calling card. Help others whenever you can. Put forth your best effort to work well with
others.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Kindness makes you beautiful. Sow seeds of kindness, joy and love. Realize that <i>you</i> may be the only one reaching out to someone. So, keep encouraging even when others don’t. Call people and see how they’re doing. Check on friends you haven’t heard from in a while. Tell someone you love them every day. Any of us who have ever been thirsty for
encouragement should appreciate the value in offering uplifting words to the
people in our lives. Sometimes a person
just needs a little inspiration or a different thought to get them propelled in
the right direction. So, seize each
opportunity to give away the grace God gives to us.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Giving to another person takes nothing away from
us. We truly help ourselves by blessing
and supporting others. Be a shoulder to
cry on or a listening ear. Let others know that you understand what they’re
going through. My grandmother Mary used to say “the person you help won’t
always be the one to help you when you’re in need.” Remember that the Lord will always make a way
for you. Those who give water will get water. So, invest in yourself by investing in others.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Have you encouraged someone today? Think of blessing
others as your mission. Take a zest for
life with you wherever you go. Yell out
and tell someone “you look pretty today,” which happens to be something my
mother does often. Girlfriends pray for
one another often and ask the Lord to give the ladies in your life strength and
guidance for whatever they’re facing. Pray
for the people in your life and hold someone’s hand just to let them know they
are not alone. Offer solutions and help
others achieve their goals. Share your
gifts, knowledge and lessons acquired along the way. Congratulate, compliment and cheer for
others. Be happy when others do well. The
success of others is <i>not</i> your
failure.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Let’s love our neighbors, even when their beliefs
are different than ours. Love and
embrace others even when you don’t agree with their lifestyle. Let the ears of your heart perk when you
realize you are able and blessed enough to meet the immediate need of someone
else. Send out positive vibrations. Let your joy, happiness and positivity be a
good contagion. We can <i>all</i> do good things. The Lord, King of creation, has a specific
plan for <i>you</i>. Open your heart and allow Him to show you
exactly how <i>you</i> can be the greatest
blessing. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">

done on earth as it is in heaven. Please keep blessing us, so that we can be a blessing
to your kingdom.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U6fiy4MAMSg/V2Bsyd0l26I/AAAAAAAAA4E/NLdWdTKrNOYJx-8wNNMcquj42Ua_xB8CQCLcB/s1600/savemarriage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U6fiy4MAMSg/V2Bsyd0l26I/AAAAAAAAA4E/NLdWdTKrNOYJx-8wNNMcquj42Ua_xB8CQCLcB/s320/savemarriage.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
Divorce
is a difficult prospect. Actually
staring down the barrel of an impending divorce is terrifying. So many thoughts plague your mind. The uncertainty, the despair, and the pain
can overtake you and leave you in a state of emotional paralysis. “How did we get here? Is this our only option? Once upon a time, we
were really good. We did love each
other, right? Yes, we <i>still</i> love each other. Why can’t we make this work? This place
though is just too hard and neither of us knows how to fix what’s wrong. I’m just
tired of fighting. I’m sick of trying. I’m tired of being in pain. I just want to start over. I need peace. Obviously,
we weren’t meant to last forever.”<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
Early
on in our marriage, before we even had our first child, we had taken one
another through so much. We married long
before we should have. Young and naïve,
we had all the wrong ideas about how to make marriage work for <i>both</i> of us. And any good ideas we may have had, we weren’t
sure about how to properly implement those ideas. After several crazy years, full of love,
mistakes, struggle, and blame, our marriage was <i>over</i>. We just didn’t like or
trust each other much. So, what’s the
point of forcing it? The divorce papers
had been signed by me. The only thing
that was left was to mail them to my husband to get his signature.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
I’m so
glad that the Lord had other plans for us.
He touched our hearts and made us believe for just a minute (at the same
time) that there was some way to salvage– to <i>restore</i> our marriage. Over
time, a great deal of time, He brought us back from the brink of divorce. It was not easy. It was not overnight. There
was no quick-fix. Getting back “on track” was probably one of the most
difficult things I’ve ever done. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
All
those years ago though, at just 24 years old, I knew it was over. I knew that there was just no way to put the
pieces back together. No one alive could’ve
told me that there was any hope for us.
No one could have told me that there were steps that we could take, if
we were both willing to try and to remain dedicated to one another. Sadly, there was no one around to encourage
me, to speak blessings over my marriage, or to lead me to the Lord for
guidance.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
Well,
with God’s grace, we made it through that storm. I saved my marriage by <i>believing</i> that God could restore us, despite all the awful pain and
trauma. I saved my marriage by ignoring
popular opinion that said, “Yeah, just let it go. You've gone as far as you can. It wasn’t meant to be.” I saved my marriage by asking, “Lord, what
should I do now?” I saved my marriage by
having faith that God’s promises are true and that I can do <i>all</i> things through
Christ who strengthens me. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
We
have been tested by fire. Today, we’re
stronger than ever. We hold on tighter
to one another in the storms. Is it always easy? No, but it’s worth it. Are we perfect? No. Is our marriage perfect? Of course not. We do, however, share deep love and respect
for one another. We enjoy laughing,
talking, and being silly together. Now, we realize that every argument or
disagreement isn’t fatal. Now, I know
how important it is to let love dictate my response to my husband and to any
difficulty we face. Lord, thank you for
saving my marriage. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;">
Despite
the 50% US divorce rate, there are couples who have made it back from the brink
of divorce. There are other couples whose
marriages have been saved. If you're willing to try, there are steps to work toward reconciliation. Below are a
few interesting stories/articles that I hope will inspire anyone who believes
that there is no way that their marriage can be saved. <o:p></o:p></div>

<span style="color: #363632; font-size: 12.0pt;">Never a fan of the
convincing game, you refuse to waste a minute trying to convert anyone into a
believer. You’ve discovered that fitting
in neither works nor lasts. The world is
way too fickle. You see yourself as the
Lord sees you and the picture is amazing.
You refuse to let others ask you to take an emotional seat at the back
of the bus.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: 16.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-size: 12.0pt;">The world screams, “Don’t
love yourself. Compare yourself. Doubt yourself. Subdue
yourself. Be someone else. Just sit down and <i>let</i> someone else.” The world
wants you to feel that you need society’s stamp of approval. The world wants you to buy into its standard
of beauty. The world wants you to beg to
be loved.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: 16.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="color: #363632; font-size: 12.0pt;">I have some good news for
you. Your beauty is not everyone else’s
beauty. The Lord, a magnificent artist,
must love variety. Your uniqueness. Your heart.
Your eyes. Your smile. Your ideas. Your creativity. What a gift you are to the world. Romance, nurture and cherish yourself. Go right ahead and love yourself. When you love yourself just as you are, the
right people will love you too."<o:p></o:p></span></div>
